You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of 40-50 prospects, with a goal of raising $2.0 million annually for Children’s National. Your diverse portfolio will include foundations interested in improving outcomes for children through basic, translational, and clinical research across a wide range of disciplines.
You will work closely with other major gift officers and faculty to identify prospects and develop competitive proposals, often with complex subject matter. Must be creative, collaborative and solution-oriented, with 8+ years of related experience. Strong project management skills required.
The Senior Associate Director of Foundation Relations will develop fundraising strategies to advance the cultivation and solicitation of foundation fundraising regionally, nationally, and globally. H/She will report to the Director of Foundation Relations, and is responsible to implement these strategies with top corporate and private foundation funders, work closely with MGOs, Corporate Partnerships team, and other Children's Hospital Foundation and Children's National staff to develop competitive proposals, often with complex subject matter. Works with the Associate Vice President, Corporate and Community Giving, and the Director of Foundation Relations to identify new prospects in order to increase funding for existing and emerging Children's National priorities. Responsible to execute a strategic stewardship plan to retain and cultivate foundation funding partners. Responsible for raising $1.5M.

The Grants Accountant performs the accounting and financial support functions for program and organization-wide foundation grants. These functions include: preparing financial projections and contributing to budgets, expense tracking, actual v. budget reporting, reviewing/monitoring of individual grants and transactions for compliance with grant funds requirements, billing and collections, journal entries, and financial grant reporting including preparation of report financials for granting authorities.
This position may also be required to verify budget proposals for grant applications and ensure staff time allocations are valid. The Grants Accountant provides accounting support to the finance department as well as program heads. The position will also answer inquiries from external auditors concerning grant information and effectively communicate complex financial issues to employees, auditors, and granting agencies.
